Things to do in Moosehead Lake during the Fall

Moosehead is bustling with activity in the autumn months when other areas are starting to button up for the coming winter.

The autumn season is, perhaps, the most enjoyable season to experience our region’s abundance of sky-reaching mountains.

The weather is cool, the air is crisp. Wildlife is teeming yet the bugs have gone. The elaborately nature-painted landscapes seen from the tops of mountains such as Little Spencer, Big Moose, Moxie, and White Cap are unsurpassed.

Whether you are here to hike in the North Woods, take in the scenery on a scenic drive, fly with us on a Seaplane Ride or photograph our amazing wildlife, you are sure to enjoy your time at Moosehead in the fall.

Moosehead Fall Checklist

  • The colorful fall foliage begs you to bring your camera along with you. Wherever you go in the North Woods there is a photograph just waiting to be taken.
  • Hiking in the fall is a must while visiting Moosehead so be sure to pack your hiking boots. The quiet of the woods and the scent of the pine trees surrounding you make it the perfect fall activity.
  • Autumn brings cooler temperatures to our region requiring outer gear that will keep you warm and dry throughout your adventures.
