HIGH WATER rafting on the Kennebec River Turbine Test Release Dates!
Only 4 scheduled releases per rafting season! If you love whitewater action, you will want to be on one of these special release trips… 8,000 cubic feet per second (cfs) water flows, nearly DOUBLE the Kennebec River’s normal whitewater rafting release volume. During a turbine test, Brookfield Power tests its generating turbines by releasing the maximum amount of water possible through the turbines at Harris Station Dam.

This aggressive, high-adventure whitewater rafting trip races through the beautiful Upper Kennebec Gorge with non-stop action and huge waves. The Kennebec broadens after lunch, into the fast-moving lower section surrounded by forests and wildlife. Enjoy the incredible scenery, exciting rapids, and plenty of opportunities to play and see wildlife such as eagles, moose, osprey, and more!
The river put-in is only a 30-minute bus ride from the check-in and the trip ends just a short 5-minute ride from our Northern Outdoors Adventure Resort.
Once back at the lodge you’ll be served a classic grilled lunch with steak, chicken, veg burger, or salmon, our world-famous river rice, and additional sides.
