Join the Appalachian Mountain Club for the 2nd Annual See The Dark Festival. This multi-day event focused on the dark sky will be held October 15 through 22, 2023.
Scheduled around the New Moon for optimal stargazing, the festival will provide the opportunity for guests to learn more about dark sky conservation and strengthen their appreciation of the ways in which they can make an impact.
Consistent with the Appalachian Mountain Club’s mission, the dark skies are an important ecological resource and a thrilling outdoor experience that should be conserved. In fact, AMC’s Maine Woods International Dark Sky Park is one of the best places for stargazing in the region.
Enjoy star-themed dinners and desserts, plus expert presentations from astronomers, scientists, musicians, and artists, thanks to a generous donation by Lenny & Marjorie Johnson and event sponsor, Allagash Brewing Company.
This year’s event will be at AMC’s Medawisla Lodge, located northeast of Greenville Maine.
Programs are all included at no charge for guests staying overnight at the lodge. Reserve your space soon as this event sells out quickly. Tickets for dinner and evening presentations can be made by making reservations at Medawisla Lodge.Â
