If you are looking for true Maine wilderness and one of the most scenic remote waterfalls, this is the hike for you!
Length: 7.9 miles RT
Difficulty: Challenging, due to distance
Carpoolers meet at 8:00AM at the Katahdin Steamship Parking lot. All others meet us at the trailhead.
Direction to Trailhead: From the blinking light in Greenville, drive north on Lily Bay Road for 18.9 miles. Just past Kokadjo, where the pavement ends, bear left onto Sias Hill Road. Drive 1.6 miles. Turn right onto Smithfield Road. Drive 3.6 miles. Turn left onto Penobscot Pond Road. There is a blue sigh at the intersection for Nahakanta Pond Road. Drive 4 miles. Bear left at the large Appalachian Mountain Club (AMC) sign. Drive 2.7 miles. Bear right at the intersection. Drive 1.7 miles. Turn left at the intersection onto Nahamakanta Road. There is another blue sign directing you toward the Nahamakanta Reserved Land. Drive 2.4 miles, passing Penobscot Pond and the boundary of Nahmakanta Reserved Land. Bear right. (On your return trip, this intersection might be confusing.) Drive .6 mile. Bear left, staying on Nahmakanta Road. Drive 1.3 miles to the T-intersection. Turn right onto Jo-Mary Road. Drive 3.9 miles. The trailhead parking is on the right just past the trailhead.
