Our pigs are living their absolute best lives right now, happily situated under the wild apple trees where every wind gust treats them to nature’s candy falling right to the ground. There’s something perfect about watching them root around in the fallen leaves, munching on apples, completely content in their forest home. These pigs have had quite the gourmet upbringing. They’ve been raised on whey from our cheese-making and spent grains from Tim’s brewing – nothing goes to waste at Turning Page Farm. They’ve spent their days foraging through the forest, and now they’re finishing on apples. It’s the kind of life that produces exceptional pork with flavor you simply can’t find at any grocery store. Speaking of which, Tim and I have been diligently working our way through the last pork chops and hams from last year’s harvest, making sure our freezers have room for this year’s pork, which should arrive just before Christmas. It’s bittersweet – we love that pork, but we’re also excited for the new supply. Who else wants to fill their freezers with local pork, grown right here in Monson, raised on our farm’s by-products, forest foraging, and finished on apples? We still have pork boxes available:
