Moosehead Marine Museum “Keep Kate Cruisin'” Open House

In celebration of the great progress and the Kate’s upcoming 110th birthday in August, the Moosehead Marine Museum invites the community to an open house on Sunday, May 26 from 2-5 p.m. Tours of the Museum and Katahdin will be given by staff and volunteers.

The skilled workmen from the Boothbay Harbor Shipyard were hard at work all winter behind the white protective curtain. In recent days, the covering has been removed, signaling the completion of Phase II of the Keep Kate Cruising campaign and soon, the inaugural sailing for 2024! Come aboard and see what has happened behind the curtain, the fine work and improvements that have taken place and learn about the ongoing campaign.

In addition, there will be opportunities to take part in raffles as well as to participate in a unique $110 contribution to the Kate’s birthday. Everyone who donates $110 to the 110th birthday celebration at the open house will have their name placed in a drawing for tickets to the special birthday cruise in August as well as for regular cruises throughout the sailing season!
