Monson General Store’s Meet the Artist Sarah Coleman and Wine Tasting

Meet the Artist and wine tasting.
Please join us on June 5th, 4-6 PM at the Monson Gallery Store as we feature Sarah Coleman. Sarah is a self-taught basket maker since 1991. She has dabbled in a lot of other mediums over the years, but baskets are her passion. She makes most any type of basket, but mainly antler baskets. The antlers lend such gracefulness to the baskets due to their arches and tines. She buys most of her antlers at various shops, and friends often drop by with some. Very occasionally, she will find one under her apple trees. Sarah uses brown ash to weave with when it’s available, otherwise she uses rattan- all of which make for a unique and sturdy basket that she hopes will be cherished and passed down through the generations.

For our wine tasting this month, we will be serving Wines from Our friends at Cellar Door Winery in Lincolnville. We will be serving Ned Said Red, his wine will transport you to a patio on cobblestone streets with its aromas of black cherry, star anise and cigar box. And for our White, Perfect Stranger; With aromas of Asian pear and crisp green apple, our off-dry Cayuga White has a bright and refreshing finish.
