Hands-on Buffer Planting Workshop Offered in Dover-Foxcroft
Piscataquis County Soil and Water Conservation District (PCSWCD) is partnering with
the Sebec Lake Association, the Town of Dover-Foxcroft and Moosehead Regional Land
Trust to host Ivonne Vazquez of Bas Rouge Farm for a hands-on Buffer Planting
Workshop on August 29th. This event is open to the public and will provide information
native plants, native plant selection for vegetative buffers, the benefits of buffers and
hands-on instruction for planting buffers.
Ivonne is an exceptional resource and instructor, and we are so excited to bring her
expertise to Dover-Foxcroft. This workshop will provide a lot of useful information for
folks looking to stop erosion happening on shorelines, establish more native plants on
their properties or even just contribute to the betterment of our local community as we
plan to install a buffer at the town beach! If you are unfamiliar with vegetative buffers
and their importance in helping our local water resources stay healthy, clean and free
from harmful runoff, please join us to learn more!
Registration is required. There is a $10 fee for the workshop to help us cover material
