The Moosehead Historical Society and Shaw Public Library are teaming up for a festive tribute to history, architecture, and holiday cheer—with the Gingerbread & Brickwork Contest!

The fun launches at the Moosehead Historical Society Annual Holiday Open House:

• Saturday, November 22 | 1–4 PM

• Eveleth-Crafts-Sheridan Historical House, Greenville Junction

Enjoy holiday treats, a beautifully decorated historic home, and vote for your favorite gingerbread creation—public voting happens only during the Open House!

Want to join the fun? Pick up a free gingerbread house kit (while supplies last) at the Center for Moosehead History or Shaw Public Library. If you take a kit, we hope you’ll enter!

Feeling ambitious? We especially encourage you to build from scratch—and if you’re up for a challenge, try crafting a gingerbread replica of Shaw Public Library! Its iconic brick façade and civic charm are perfect for a sweet tribute. We’ll be sharing a vintage photo of the Library to help inspire your design.

Entry Drop-Off

Deliver your edible masterpiece on Friday, November 21 between 1–3 PM to the Eveleth-Crafts-Sheridan House.

Awards Announced December 16: Winners will be revealed during Shaw Public Library’s Centennial Celebration—stay tuned for more details!
