Dead River Rafting with Northern Outdoors & 80’s Night Party after

DETAILS

Whitewater rafting trips on the Dead River gather at The Forks Adventure Resort at 8:00am or 8:30am for a safety orientation, paddling instructions, and to gear up before the ride to the Dead River put in.  After your ride to the Dead River put-in location, just below Grand Falls, you will meet your Registered Maine Whitewater Guide and hop on the river. Your Dead River trip builds in intensity with great warm-up rapids at the top, and culminates in the class 4+ Poplar Falls at the end. Prepare yourself for gorgeous scenery–especially when the leaves turn into vivid reds, oranges and yellows during Last Blast in October! The trip ends just 5 miles upstream from our Northern Outdoors Adventure Resort, where you’ll enjoy a classic grilled lunch of steak, salmon, chicken, or veggie burger served alongside fried rice, salad, and dessert. Also at our adventure resort? Craft beer from our very own Kennebec River Brewery! After lunch, your guides put on a slideshow of photos and video of you conquering the whitewater so grab a craft beer, kick back, and get ready to laugh!  The 6th of 8 dam releases on the Dead River this season. Summer rainfall is piled up for the first fall release of 5,500 CFS on Sunday of Labor Day Weekend- you won’t want to miss this fun weekend! The Dead River has more continuous whitewater than any other river in the East – class III to IV+ whitewater from below Grand Falls to the confluence of the Kennebec and Dead Rivers. After an awesome day on the river enjoy a grilled lunch back at Northern Outdoors Adventure Resort with steak, chicken, salmon, or veggie burger. Don’t forget to grab a beer from Kennebec River Brewery before enjoying the slideshow and video of your trip! After that the night is yours- soak in the hot tub, play some deck games, or just chill in the lodge with tunes, food, and fresh beer. Want to make it a full weekend? Look into the TRIPLE CROWN! Not for faint hearted, the triple crown means conquering all three of Maine’s rivers in three days. You’ll want to check out our website to look into the Kennebec and Penobscot Rivers to see if this is your style!
